Today I am talking about one of my very favorite things… Food and drink! Although I have (and always will) struggle with my weight, I have learned that it is okay to indulge (in moderation!). While on spring break, I decided to let myself have a few treats and I thought it would be fun for me to share some of my favorite places to eat in The Woodlands, Texas!
As towns (or, mini cities..) go, The Woodlands is incredibly blessed on the “eatery” front. With new areas of town popping up all over the place, woodlanders are not short of different places to eat! I have outlined one of my favorite places in each of my favorite areas in town! If you live in The Woodlands… Or if you’re heading into town.. You’d be crazy not to check these places out!
- Local Pour, Hughes Landing, The Woodlands Tx
I have two words for you. Chocolate. Cake.
I have two more words for you. Lake. View.
Hughes Landing could be called the new “it” place of The Woodlands! It is the cutest little strip that has a macaron shop, a frozen yogurt parlor, and tons of restaurants! As far as B and I are concerned… Local Pour is our favorite! They have awesome happy hour deals and they have the most delicious food! Our favorites are the Bruscetta and the sweet potato fries (which are only 4 dollars)! If you wanted to just go out for a drink but wanted something to munch on… Those fries are the best.
For any of you who know me however… You know how much of a fiend I am for chocolate. If B had his way he would stick to savory and just get some appetizers.. If I had my way I’d go straight to desert… Hey, life is too short! Thus, we compromise (I know.. What a horrible problem to have to have) But I can’t get enough of the sweet stuff. If you have ever had the Great Wall of Chocolate from PF Changs you know how heavenly it tastes. Well, it does not even come close to this Chocolate Cake from Local Pour! Forget the fries, give me a glass of that sangria and some chocolate cake, let me look out over Lake Woodlands and I am one happy girl!
2. Fieldings Local Kitchen, Creekside Village, The Woodlands, Tx.
Okay this time I have one word for you… Brunch! This place came at the reccommendation of two of my favorite friends (who just so happen to be getting MARRIED very SOON!!!) Jill (who you may remember from Napa) and her fiancé, Chase!
Jill, Chase and I headed out for a dinner (where we missed Brian who was working) at Fieldings and it was the first time I had been there! I loved it but they told me I for sure had to come back for brunch. So… Of course, the following Saturday I dragged B out there with me! It’s about 15 min from The Woodlands but it is so worth the drive! This was their mimosa flight and it was as delicious as it looked! They also do an awesome Bloody Mary flight with Bacon and all sorts of things sticking out of the top!
If this is how yummy their drinks look… Can you even imagine the food?! They have an incredible brunch menu that has everything you could imagine.. Even a traditional English breakfast (in TEXAS). Brilliant. I love it. Definitely check it out if you’re in the Houston area! I promise you will not be disappointed.
3. Uni Sushi, Market Street, The Woodlands, Tx
Now… Can you ever go wrong with sushi? Mm… I think not. My absolute without a doubt favorite thing to do is go to a matinee movie with B and then sit at the bar in Uni Sushi and watch the chefs make our lunch! Every time I eat at Uni Sushi I get something different and I have never had something I didn’t like! Uni sushi also has awesome lunch deals that make dining out super affordable!
I should also mention how adorable Market Street is, for those of you who have never been. It is basically an outdoor area with a center green for the kiddos to run around on, a plethora of upscale restaurants and some gorgeous stores (think Tiffany, Brooks Brothers, Vineyard Vines, Kate Spade, Cos Bar, Michael Kors)… I could go on and on.. I’m obsessed! This is the best place to go if you want to do some shopping, some people watching, and grab a bite!
If you couldn’t tell.. I think it’s pretty obvious that I love my hometown! I hope you guys enpjoyed reading and I would love to hear if you have any other favorite eateries in the Houston area!
