Delightfully Dominican

Hello Lovelies,

It’s a wonderful life when you’re able to travel and it’s even more wonderful when you’re able to travel with friends!

Today I’m recapping my trip to the Dominican Republic but sadly, the pics don’t do it enough justice!

PS. We stayed at the Riu Palace Punta Cana and we loved it! It was all-inclusive which meant we didn’t have to spend a dime outside of the excursions that we went on!

This is the face you make when you have been up for hours and still have hours of travel 🙂 We started our journey with a 4am flight from Houston to Chicago! From there, it was just a hop skip and a jump until we got to the Dominican Republic! (Ps. we took a direct flight home, but the flight was significantly cheaper to have a 2 legged journey on our way there!)
We flew directly into Punta Cana and boarded a bus for a thirty minute ride to our hotel! We were greeted with cocktails and a wonderful concierge who took our bags right up to our room! This is the lobby, it was huge! The only downside was that it wasn’t air-conditioned!!
In this pic you can see our bags waiting to go up to the rooms!!
In the back of this picture, you can see a glimpse of the bar which had wonderful service!! We started most of our nights here!
After we got checked into our rooms we headed out to explore before dinner! The beach was complete bliss, soft white sand and a warm, clear ocean. I couldn’t get enough!
This little strip was wonderful! It was filled with little shops, a spa, and a bar! It connected our hotel, the Riu Palace to the other Riu hotels on the property! Because we were staying in the palace, we were granted access to all of the other hotels on the property!
If you ever find your way to the Riu Palace, ask for Elvis in the swim up bar, and have him make you their special drink, the “Sammy Sosa”!
The lobby looked even more beautiful at night!
Both of the rooms looked like this! They were really spacious with a balcony! Our rooms didn’t have very good views as we just looked out onto a courtyard, but the view from our hallway was incredible.
I loved walking out of our room to this view every morning!
Can we go back yet?!
On our first night, we headed to dinner and then out to explore the resort some more! My dress is from Soma, it is the most comfortable maxi dress I own!
This was an amazing excursion! We got to swim with Sharks, Sting Rays and explore the Island on a Catamaran!
This swim suit is from Victoria’s Secret and it was a complete steal!

We made friends with the waiters and they decorated our dinner table for us! 🙂
Paradise! Both my skirt and my top are from Forever 21! I LOVE their stuff because it is such a good price and this skirt is amazing quality!

We had an amazing time and I am already excited to plan our next summer getaway! I would totally recommend Punta Cana! It is easy to travel to and it feels like you are world away from reality!

I hope you enjoyed these pics! I would love to hear about your favorite travel spots for little get aways!
